Privacy policy
cannelloni.net is a static website — a collection of pages about one pasta dish, with no moving parts behind it. The honest summary of this policy: we collect very little: anonymous traffic statistics, and nothing that identifies you to us. The details, in plain language:
What this site does not have
- No accounts, logins or profiles. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No comment forms or newsletters. The only way to send us data is to email us deliberately.
- No advertising networks or tracking pixels. No ad scripts run on these pages, and nothing is sold to or shared with advertisers.
What does exist
- Google Analytics. Every page loads Google Analytics (gtag.js) so we can see which guides people read and which searches bring them here. It records things like pages viewed, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and referring site, and sets first-party cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) to tell repeat visits apart. We see only aggregate reports, never your name or email. Google processes this data under Google’s privacy policy; you can opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on, a content blocker, or by blocking cookies for this site. - Standard server logs. Like effectively every website, the server that hosts these pages records requests — IP address, page requested, timestamp, browser user-agent — in routine logs used for security and capacity. These are kept per our hosting provider’s standard retention and are not used to identify or profile readers.
- Email you send us. If you write to [email protected], we have your address and whatever you wrote. It’s used to reply to you and, if you sent a correction or recipe, to act on it. It is never sold, shared or added to any list.
- Amazon’s own cookies. Buying-guide links go to Amazon with our affiliate tag (explained in the affiliate disclosure). When you click one, Amazon sets cookies in your browser under Amazon’s own privacy notice — that’s how it attributes purchases. This happens on Amazon’s site, under Amazon’s policies, and is entirely between you and Amazon; we receive aggregate commission reports, never your identity or purchase history.
Your choices
Since the only data tied to you personally is any email you’ve sent, the available requests are simple: ask us to delete your correspondence and we will. Browse with affiliate-link blocking or cookie controls if you prefer — every product link works as a plain Amazon link regardless.
